2. Bridge Substructure

The domain was “Steel girder foot and cycle path bridge which crosses the main road with six lanes”. All engineers decide about products, materials, operations and maintenance. All these decisons impact life-cycle costs and environment. I try to show to conduct a life cycle assessment of a concrete footbridge. Therefore, I defined the goal and scope of this assessment in the following way. This Figure 1 defines the scope of this assignment. The main goal of this is to do a carbon footprint analysis and the boundaries are shown below. I focused on the columns and abutments which are the main part of the substructure of a footbridge.
