1. Integrated context of an urban System

The integrated system of Group 4 in winter semester 2019/2020 contains the following subsystems:

1. Airplane Hangar

2. Airport Runway

3. Tunnel

The system that is created by these three subsystems could be an airplane manufacturing hall with a landing strip for test flights and a supply tunnel to supply the hangar with all necessary materials.

To design a complex system of systems with different interdependence’s, geographical and logical restrictions must be identified. In case of the airplane manufacturing hall, which is supposed to be directly attached to a runway, also needs infrastructure for the delivery of parts. Because an airfield is a security zone and an above-ground delivery would interfere with the entire air traffic, an underground tunnel is a perfect alternative. While the tunnel must connect to the hangar, different paths under or around the runway are possible.
