Integrated System – Part of a School Building

Maintenance strategies for buildings are crucial for ensuring the longevity and functionality of a structure. Different components within a building can deteriorate at different rates and have various failure probabilities, making it important to understand and plan maintenance cycles accordingly. A comprehensive maintenance plan considers not just the maintenance of individual components, but also the relationship and impact between different components on each other over the life cycle of the building. Multi-objective optimization and life cycle analysis techniques can be applied to determine a balance between the life cycle costs, environmental impacts, service quality and maintenance planning for an integrated system.
