Combined Ontologies

In the process of creating an ontology with the domain “CulturalPark”, the three original ontologies of the three engineering products were first combined. They were subordinated to the “CulturalParkComponent” class and thus formed components of the cultural park to be designed. In the next step, components or classes that were now important for the entire domain due to the merging of the ontologies were relocated. In the classes of library, theater and roller coaster only the classes for the creation of special design options and for the representation of the components that exclusively concern the respective structural facilities remained.

In addition, there were the classes “CulturalParkDesign” for the design options of the entire park. The sub-classes which are yet to be parameterized have been allocated to different individuals, and the slots of these individuals where filled with different parameters, based on the three desing scenarios.  More classes were added, such as “CulturalParkMainMaterial”, which contains the materials used, and “CulturalParkFunction”, which consists partly of functions of the original structures and partly of supplementary functions considered essential and important by the authors.

The Object properties have also been reorganized and supplemented and, based on all the previous steps and considering the already existing design options of the three original engineering products, all-encompassing design options have been created.
