Retaining Wall

Ontological Modeling

Retaining walls will serve as my system for the creation of this ontology because they are used not just only in nearly all major construction projects in hilly places, such as creating bridges and basements beneath buildings but also in landscaping projects on plains and in open spaces like parks/gardens. There are many applications of retaining walls, from private homes to government building projects and commercial civil engineering projects.

Purpose:

This model represents the abstraction of retaining walls.

Scope:

This model consists of almost all the knowledge required to plan or design a retaining wall. It includes various types of retaining walls, various components of retaining walls, applications, and forces acting on retaining walls.

Intended Users:

The intended users are the designers and engineers, who are responsible for designing and planning retaining walls.

Intended Use:

This Ontology can be used as a Knowledge base for the basic conceptual design of a Retaining wall. Since a vast amount of knowledge and time is required to prepare an extensive Ontology, only basic concepts have been listed in this one. This Ontology can however be developed further by refining and adding more data.
