Maintenance Planning of Integrated Systems and Multi-Objective Optimization

Due to the many extreme loads that a civil engineering system undergoes in its lifetime, maintenance planning is a fundamental tool to keep the system functioning as it should over this extended period. Therefore, optimal maintenance planning, by reducing interventions, interruption length and cost while keeping the civil system functioning for as long as safely possible, is essential.

In this assignment, four civil systems were integrated and the integrated maintenance strategy was analysed in order to determine how the maintenance of one system can affect the other systems. The final aim was to develop a maintenance strategy that balances the life-cycle costs and the maintenance interventions.
